T-45C Goshawk Flight Demonstration

It isn’t very often that we get the opportunity to see military orange and white training aircraft in flight at an air show, however at the recent NAS Kingsville, Texas air show courtesy of Air Wing Two, we had that rare opportunity to see a flight demonstration of the  T-45C Goshawk in a four jet formation.

Pilots from both Training Squadrons 21 and 22 demonstrated several maneuvers conducted during training.

The Goshawk is used by the Navy and Marine Corps to train student pilots in the intermediate and advanced portions of the strike pilot training program.  Approximately 3,500 student aviators have received their Wings of Gold in the Goshawk.

The Goshawk is a two seat jet that is manufactured by Boeing with a Rolls-Royce engine.  The T-45 is fully carrier capable and student pilots receive their first traps (carrier landings) in this aircraft.  Since entering service in 1992, the T-45s have logged over 800,00 flight-hours and made over 50,000 arrested carrier landings.

Memorial Day

This Memorial Day got me thinking about a recent visit to Naval Air Station Pensacola.  I was up early on a Sunday morning, before the extreme heat of the day kicked in and decided to take one last drive around the base just before leaving to catch my flight back home.  I had driven by Barrancas Cemetery several times on this visit.  It’s hard to miss thousands of symetrical tombstones lined in perfect attention. I decided to stop by the cemetery and take a few moments to pay my respects.

When I arrived, dew was still on the grass and the tombstones glowed… illuminated  by the warm morning sunlight. It’s sobering to see all the names, dates and inscriptions for loved ones on the tombstones. As I walked up and down aisle after aisle, I couldn’t help but wonder about about the stories of the men and women buried there. So many have sacrificed so much for our country and liberty.

There is a lot of history at NAS Pensacola with Fort Barrancas, the Naval Aviation Museum, the Lighthouse… especially at Barrancas cemetery.

Cara Renee shoots with model Kyle Taylor

It had been awhile since I had worked with model Kyle Taylor so it was a great opportunity to catch up with him and see what he has been up to. The make-up artist for the shoot was the lovely and talented Megan Martinez. Special thanks to Austin Tower at Aria Sky Terrace & Lounge for supplying the amazing location.

Here are some photos from the shoot!

Cara Renee shoots with model Jordan Lopez

I had the opportunity to work with the lovely model Jordan Lopez recently on a photoshoot at my Chicago studio. Enid Seymore provided the dynamic duo of services as the makeup artist and hair stylist. Our trio of talents resulted in an amazing variety of images from the shoot.  Thanks to Jordan and Enid… it was a pleasure working with you both!
